Clyde Burtrum was the founder and owner of the original store in Flint. Mr. Burtrum started his apprenticeship in the fur trade at Smith Bridgmans in the year 1937. Along the way he also picked up many valuable business practices from Mr.Charles Stewart Mott. Then, in 1957, Mr. Burtrum opened his own business, Furs by Clyde Burtrum. Mr. Burtrum retired and his eldest son Larry Burtrum became the President of the company in 1991. Now Burtrum Furs is pleased to announce they have moved to Grand blanc, where Amy Burtrum is now the President.
